Prerequisites - KMIP Server

To use the Securosys KMIP Server, you need:

• A Securosys Primus HSM or CloudHSM
  • With the KMI_PROTOCOL and KEY_MANAGEMENT_SYSTEM licenses
  • With firmware version 3.2.9 (or later)
• A Kubernetes cluster
• A PostgreSQL Database

For local testing, the simplest option is to use MicroK8s as a Kubernetes cluster.

System Requirements

At a minimum, the KMIP Server deployed on a bare-metal server requires:

• CPU: 2
• Memory: 16 GB
• Disk: 25 GB
• Networks: 1

The minimum requirements are for typical evaluation contexts and small-to-medium production contexts. For higher load production environments, additional memory, disk and CPU allocations are recommended.
