Primus HSM - Licenses
Primus HSMs requires a license to operate and activate the different features. The following license types are currently defined:

Perpetual: This license does not expire and provides permanent unrestricted access to the licensed functionality.

Maintenance: Maintenance licenses are time limited. This license does not impact normal operation but restricts firmware updates after the expiration date. The system will issue early warnings 30 days before license expiration, and restrict firmware updates once the license has expired. Renewal is required to resume firmware update capability.
License update
An official license can be loaded onto the Primus HSM via USB or WebDAV. The HSM verifies the license for authenticity and accepts only licenses of the same revision or newer. Updating the license requires activation by the Security Officer (SO) or the Genesis role if the device is in its factory-default state. The HSM reboots automatically upon licensed feature changes. No reboot occurs if only the Maintenance or Timed license is extended without feature modifications.
If the updated license includes features not supported by the current firmware, it must be reapplied after performing a firmware upgrade, see Firmware Update.
